History:

For those who understand the fairy folklore know that fairies will show themselves only if you believe in their magic.  It's true that fairies live at the bottom of any well-loved garden.  They secretly come out and play at sundown or sunrise.  Although they are very shy and quiet, if you are very still and whisper in a singing tone, the fairies might appear to you.  The fairies love to help the flowers with their colorful blooms.  They make the smells of the flowers more fragrant for all to enjoy.  Most fairies have a special task of love, which they work at the fairy dell.  If you are in doubt of any fairy folklore, ask an older relative like Grandma who will most surely know of some of the fairy secrets.

Fairy magic is special and always used sparingly.  Never ask a fairy for a magic trick or spell.  As they will almost certainly be shy and run away to hide.  If you are welcomed to a Fairy dell, you will often be asked to join in some fairy games.  The fairies love to sing, dance and play special fairy games.  You might see a magic fairy circle, which is ringed by mushrooms in rainbow colors.  Once you have made some fairy friends, you may politely ask for a special wish for a relative or friend.  The fairies will always respond to a warm and gently caring person, who will think of others before themselves.

The fairies first love is for the garden and natural beauty is has.  They have a special relationship with the animals in the garden, such as squirrels and rabbits.  They too love the fairies for all their special magic and play they bring to the garden.  So next time you are in a garden, and look at the colors of the flowers, and smell their perfume.  Think of the fairies and the magic they bring for the entire world to enjoy.
